Darrell...sorry to say I forget about this part of our group and have never visited your "ramblings". Just took a minute now to look through while waiting for dinner to cook and found it most interesting. Just your thoughts and comments....really nice and from the heart. Was wondering about your dear ill friend and his wife...he is still with us, or has he passed away?
And...the reason for my writing today (although really do not know anything about all the code stuff...lol)..is to say this is a beautiful picture of you and Bonnie, whom I assume to be your wife. Also, looking over the ramp attached to your house...setting the posts in 1 1/2 feet of concrete, well, if anyone hits them..they will know it!!
Darrell...just say I am glad I visited here today..am searching for the pictures you posted of the snow in your area and although haven't been successful in finding them as yet, will continue digging.
Keep up your postings and if you mention from time to time of posting them in the Cafe, will nudge me to visit... :D

Glad you visited Bev and yes Arnold is hanging on still. He gets better for a few weeks and then goes down hill again.

Gosh, Darrell....your poor friend, Arnold, he is really having a difficult time.Sometimes it is the caregiver who will go before the ill individual. Hopefully this won't be the case with Arnold and his wife. Not a really nice thing for me to say...choosing one life over another..but at least his wife is in fairly good condition and could have a few good years to enjoy their family and grandchildren.

I am so sick and tired of hearing these people bitching about the roads not being plowed! It's a RECORD SETTING snow, one that no one has a plan for so what do these people want, yes, I know what they want THEIR road done the hell with everyone else. I got stuck today when I met a truck and we tried to pass each other on the valley road. He backed up and got out and tried to push me out, then tried to pull me out and that got me lose enough that he did manage to push me out. Then he backed up to a drive so I could go by just as a tractor came down the road. He took a look and pulled in in front of the truck so I could go by without any problem. Now you meet a city person and they want you to back up, not them and if you get stuck and they can get by they just leave you there, has happened a couple times to people I know. We got two people in the neighborhood who always want the road plowed so THEY can do something, never mind the rest of the people. Sometimes I get so sick of it I think about selling and moving further into WV so I would be further away from these DC people. We just hunker down and do what we can and when we can get out, we get out. Wife has missed one days work and will miss enought tomorrow as we are not getting up at 4 AM to dig out for her to go to work, don't need the money that bad.

Brrrrr.. Darrell... Made me turn up the heat a notch... Cool pictures.
The other day I saw a sign that said, "Need Help, call 1-800-Jesus"... Out of curiosity
I called the number... Ten minutes later a Mexican showed up in a tow truck!

Can you believe that it's the 10th of March and the snow is still not all gone. I don't mean the piles I mean what is on the ground is still here some. That was some storm and then the long cold spell just kept the stuff around. I think this will kill off some of the insects so that will be nice this summer, not so many nats around. Weather has been warming up to near normal or just above normal the last couple days but then it is suppose to rain for three days, that will cause some flooding in the valley below me for sure.

On a lighter note my sister may be leaving this weekend, the party will be Tue IF she does leave. LOL.

Well we had record snow, now getting flooding. These pictures were all taken on Rock Gap Rd(the valley road) which is the only way out for me. This is about a 3/4 mile trip. When I went out the other way on Rock Gap Rd it was a lot better.

Some really great pics.. So far we have not had much drainage but the dam is beginning to overflow.. Had our tornado drills this week. So spring is on its way. Remember spring forward tonight.... daylight savings time.
